Baisakh 1, 2083 BS = April 14, 2026 AD. So 2083 BS spans two AD years (2026 and 2027). Someone born in Poush 2083 BS was born in January 2027 AD — that's 57 years apart, not 56.
Nepali month lengths vary from 29 to 32 days — and change every year
In 2083 BS: Ashadh has 32 days, Mangsir has 29. There's no fixed formula — only a lookup table works. This is why a specialized converter like this one is essential.

Converting Your BS Birth Date for the DV Lottery
Nepal is one of the highest-participation countries in the US Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery. The entry form at dvlottery.state.gov requires your date of birth in Gregorian (AD) format — MM/DD/YYYY. An incorrect BS-to-AD conversion leads to automatic disqualification, even if you win.
Critical rule
Your DOB on the DV entry form must exactly match your passport and later DS-260 form. One day off = disqualification at the interview stage.
